One of the best things about being a member of the Orchid Society of Middle Tennessee is all of the great events you get to be a part of. Over the course of the year, the society participates in both the Nashville Lawn and Garden Show, and the Williamson County Lawn and Garden Show. We have our annual summer picnic and auction where you can eat yourself sick and walk home with some really great plants. We also have our annual Christmas party that is the perfect end to our year. Also, as a society we occasionally have field trips to orchid destinations that are always a great opportunity to mingle with other enthusiasts in an orchid experience. So whether you like climbing hillside looking for orchids, or if you you prefer sitting in a comfortable chair talking about your collection, the OSMT events have something for you.
Our society hosted the 50th Anniversary Mid-America Orchid Congress in Fall 2009.
Each year our society supports the Nashville Lawn and Garden Show. Through our participation, we staff a sales booth where members can sell plants to attendees. We also put on a large display to inspire and educate people on growing orchids.
From time to time, the society sponsors field trips to region points of interest. Trips have included visits to members greenhouses, and hikes to find orchids growing in the wild.
Every summer, our society holds it's annual picnic. The picnic include plenty of food and drink for everyone, good company, and an auction.
Each December, our society holds it's annual Christmas Party. We all get together and enjoy a great dinner and even better company.
