The Orchid Society of Middle Tennessee would like to invite you to our 2011 orchid show and sale! Our event will be held in Massey Hall at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens on Saturday March 19 and Sunday March 20, 2011. This will be an AOS sanctioned show. We are very excited to be hosting this event, and look forward sharing the experience with all our fellow orchid enthusiasts.
--Download Show Schedule-- There will be vendors selling plants and supplies starting at 9:30 to 6:00 pm, and the exhibits will open to the public at noon to 6:00 pm on Saturday. Sunday the hours for both exhibit and vendors will be 11 am to 4:30 pm. There will be beautifully exhibited orchids competing for awards and some of these will be new hybrids. The flowers could range in size from as small as one half of an inch to one half of a foot in diameter. Neighboring societies Heart of Dixie OS and the Tennessee Valley OS will be attending the event.
If you love orchids, photography or are just curious to see the smallest of orchid, come see the beautiful exhibits for free. Show Hours:
Friday, March 18:
9:30 am – 9:00 pm: Show set-up. Plant registration open until 8:00 pm.
Saturday, March 19:
Judges and clerks breakfast will be held from 7:00 - 8:00 a.m., with ribbon judging to follow. Upon completion of the ribbon judging (approximately 12:00 pm) the exhibits will be opened to the public.
Judges and clerks luncheon will be from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm.
The sales floor is open from 9:30 am through until 4:30 pm.
Sunday, March 20:
Exhibit and sale areas will be open to the public from 11:00 am – 4:30 pm.
