2009 OSMT Annual Summer Picnic
JOIN US - on Saturday, June 27, 2009 3:00 pm at the Annual Summer Picnic
There will be a plant auction with the procedes going to OSMT to help fund our Fall show.
Every summer, our society holds it's annual picnic. The picnic includes plenty of food and drink for everyone, good company, and an auction. It starts at 3:00 pm - but you're welcome to start showing up around 2:00 pm to get the food ready and unload plants.
Please email Libby Jackson edj5941@comcast.net and let her know what you're bringing to the picnic! OSMT will be providing chicken and barbeque.
The shelter reserved for the entire day (6am - 11pm) on Saturday June 27th is referred to as "the Pavillion in Centennial Park". It is located closest to the intersection of 28th Ave. and Poston Ave., just north of West End Ave. and a little west of the main entrance to Centennial Park.
Directions from the East:
-- Take I-40 West towards Memphis and get off at Exit # 209 for Broadway.
-- Turn left onto Broadway and and continue uphill, bearing to the right onto West End Ave. at the the top of the hill.
-- Head down West End Ave. towards Centennial Park, driving past the main entrance to the park and turning right onto 28th Ave. (just past the McDonald's on the corner at 27th Ave.).
-- Continue on 28th Ave. until you reach the intersection with Poston Ave., and the covered picnic shelter will be visible on your right as you continue straight on 28th Ave.
From the West:
-- Take I-40 East to I-440 East, heading East towards Knoxville.
-- Get off at the first exit on I-440 (Exit #1) for Murphy Rd. and turn left at the end of the exit ramp onto Murphy Rd.
-- Turn left at the next traffic light onto West End Ave. (alternatively, you may take Hwy. 70 East into town until it turns into West End Ave.).
-- Head down West End Ave. until you reach 28th Ave.
-- Turn left onto 28th Ave. (can also turn left onto 27th Ave. by the McDonald's if you miss the turn) and continue until you reach the intersection with Poston Ave. The covered picnic shelter will be visible on your right as you continue straight on 28th Ave.
From the North:
-- Take I-65 South to I-40 East and get off at Exit # 209B for Broadway. Turn right onto Broadway and follow the same directions listed above for travel from the East after turning onto Broadway..
From the South:
-- Take I-65 North to I-40 West and get off at Exit # 209 for Broadway. Turn left onto Broadway and follow the same directions listed above for travel from the East after turning onto Broadway.
-- Alternatively, you may take I-65 North to I-440 West heading West towards Memphis and get off at Exit # 1A for West End Ave., following the same directions listed above for travel from the West after turning onto West End Ave.
