President's Message

Greetings, Fellow Orchid Enthusiasts!

Well, here we are, about to embark on another year full of meetings, shows, and other activities. With one year now under my belt as President of the Society, I am really looking forward to working together with everyone to make this the best and most rewarding year yet. There is a lot of work ahead that will need to be done, and no one single person in this society is able carry the entire load on his or her shoulders, but together we can meet whatever challenges we face.

So I would like to extend an open invitation to any member who is willing contribute time and energy or new ideas to make our society more inclusive, fun, and worth being a part of. Is there any particular talent you have that you might be able to lend to the collective team effort and thereby help make every other person's individual load that much lighter and easier to bear? Do you have a first-bloom seedling or a prolific bloomer that you would like to submit as "Orchid of the Month" for posting on the OSMT web site? Or do you have any ideas for articles or other content to write up for the newsletter? If so, please do not be shy about speaking up and letting either me or one of our other officers or trustees know. Anything that you are able to contribute is greatly appreciated and will help enrich the experience of all the other members.

On that note, I will close this month's greeting and will look forward to seeing you at the February meeting.
